Hugo Weaving is a film and stage actor, best known for his roles as Agent Smith in The Matrix Trilogy and Elrond in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Hobbit.  Throughout his illustrious career he has been named best actor by the Australian Film Institute three times. 

Since becoming an Ambassador for Voiceless in 2004, Hugo has worked tirelessly to promote animal protection both in Australia and abroad.  He is a regular attendee at Voiceless events and assists in the judging of our annual Grants Program.   

In 2012, Hugo lent his voice to Factory farming: the truth is hard to swallow, a national advertising campaign by Voiceless to raise awareness about the suffering endured by animals raised intensively for food in Australia.
