Lynne Roberts-Goodwin
The work of Lynne Roberts-Goodwin is distinctive for the way it recasts notions of the animal and human body within cultures of impact and contention. Her work is recognised for its rich sensuousness, its engaging textures and contemplative spaces.
Earlier work investigated the ways in which we perceive nature, in particular the way we see nature embodied in animals. Roberts-Goodwin critiques the genre of geographic and anthropological image-making by exposing them as working within an aesthetic that is counter to the scientific and documentary aims that legitimate them.
Roberts-Goodwin is an artist with a longstanding international reputation, with solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, London, United Arab Emirates, Paris, New York, Melbourne and Sydney. She has a comprehensive record of awards, and her work is held in major private and public collections nationally and internationally.
