Art, philanthropy and animal protection came together on 29April at the dazzling Voices of Art benefit at the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation. Guests were treated to vegan wine and canapés as Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP conducted the prize draws for the 20 artworks and 30 ‘indulgence and experience’ packages on offer.
After dessert and mint tea were served guests gathered for the exciting art auction, conducted by former Deputy Chairman of Christie’s Asia Roger McIlroy of Nevill Keating McIlroy. Two contemporary artworks, generously donated by the artists, were auctioned, going under the hammer for an impressive $50,000 each.
It was heartening to see so many compassionate people come out in support of the animals and talk about what animal protection means to them. Voiceless thanks our supporters, friends and guests for helping make the evening such a success, where we raised $175,000 for our crucial work to ensure animal protection remains the important social justice movement it has become.
