Kangaroo population
I am sorry but the kangaroo population is totally out of control where we live. We don't see any of you out here during droughts putting the poor buggers out of their misery when they find themselves bogged in dams etc. We have created an oasis for them. So many more watering points now. Prior to white settlement the roos had to rely on natural waterholes and as they dried up they drew into the permanent waterholes where they were subject to third rung in the food chain behind the aborigine and the dingo. Thus the population was controlled. We are very happy to retain those numbers but let me tell you that the current numbers are hundreds of thousands in excess of prior white settlement numbers. The biggest threat to the poor old roo is extreme causes such as yours for if you are successful in finishing off the roo culling industry you will force people on the land into a corner where they will cull the roos by whatever method available to them and let me tell you it won't often be the quick swift bullet.
