Due to the efforts of Voiceless and other non-profit groups like Animals Australia and their Save Babe campaign, more and more consumers are becoming aware of the horrific conditions that pigs are forced to endure within Australia's intensive pig industry.

In reaction to recent increased public scrutiny, the pig industry representative body, Australian Pork Limited (APL) has made various statements to the media.  Unfortunately, rather than acknowledging the issues and suggesting positive solutions, these statements may well mislead and confuse the public.

Animals Australia has prepared an information sheet "Facts and Fallacies" to address APL's statements on sound scientific grounds in order to ensure an informed debate can finally take place.
