animal law goes mainstream Print E-mail

Voiceless, our Animal Law Lecture Series and our guest speaker, Joyce Tischler, were featured widely in this weekend’s media.

After interviewing Joyce and Katrina Sharman, our Corporate Counsel responsible for the Lecture Series and for the growth of the animal law movement in Australia, Michael Duffy of the Sydney Morning Herald penned two pieces that gave readers a look at what animal law is all about, and why it is sorely needed.

In this little piggy went to market, Duffy highlights the Voiceless Lecture Series and interviews a range of animal law practitioners, looking at the potential strategic litigation that could change how animals are classified and treated in Australia. His second article, lawyer takes a stand for the voiceless, features an interview with Joyce about the beginning of the animal law movement that she helped create in America in the 1970s.

The birth of the animal law movement is Joyce’s inspiring topic for this year’s Lecture Series. There are still seats available for our Perth and Adelaide lectures later this week to register your spot click here
