Factory farming film among Voiceless award winners Print E-mail

Animal protection institute Voiceless gave out almost $200,000 in funding at its annual awards last night.

Among the beneficiaries was a documentary, The Bust, which will expose the horrors of Australia's factory farming industry.

THERE is limited scientific or environmental evidence to support the killing of large numbers of kangaroos every year, a series of reports has found.

But a report by THINKK, a research group based at the University of Technology, Sydney, found some of the assumptions, which allow for the largest land-based wildlife cull in the world, were misguided and not grounded on scientific evidence.

I WANT to add that in the occasional dealings I've had with Coetzee through the years he has been unfailingly courteous and helpful. I also admire his involvement with Sydney-based animal welfare group Voiceless, of which he is patron.
