People's Choice! Award

Now it its third year, the People’s Choice! Award has again been decided based on votes by the public. This $10,000 grant, awarded to the project who receives the most votes, is funded by your donations throughout the year.

Community Broadcasting Association of Australia
Winner

CBAA is the peak body for Australian community radio and television stations.  This project aims to promote greater awareness about animal cruelty issues and build the animal protection movement by utilising the unique and wide-reaching network of community radio stations.  The project, Voices for the Voiceless, which involves developing a series of twelve 60-second radio segments providing practical information on how the audience can take action for animals, will be broadcast over 270 stations for six months.

Susie Rowe (Sponsoroo)

Runner Up

Sponsoroo is an online program designed to encourage interest, education and awareness about kangaroos.  Through KangaCharm, Sponsoroo will develop educational materials to support presentations in schools and tourist centres.  Through the website, visitors will also have the opportunity to sponsor an Eastern Grey or Red Kangaroo of their choice.
