Voiceless Founder Brian Sherman AM awards a grant to Jillian Field, Voiceless empowers the animal protection movement by awarding grants and prizes. grants program The Voiceless Grants Program offers financial support to non-profit organisations working to protect animals. It funds the design and implementation of projects focusing on our core areas of work - the suffering of animals in industrialised farms in Australia, and the commercial kangaroo industry. Since the Voiceless Grants Program launched in 2004, over $1.2 million has been awarded to an amazing array of projects across the country. Read more media prizes The Voiceless Media Prizes celebrate outstanding journalism that contributes to animal protection. They recognise the most accurate and influential reports on animal protection and ethics, honouring the role of journalists in exposing animal suffering and informing the public. Totalling $15,000, the Prizes include $5,000 for the winners and $2,500 for the runners-up in broadcast and print or online categories. The 2011 Voiceless Media Prizes were sponsored by the Dalwood-Wylie Charitable Foundation, whose Director, Helena Wylie, has a passionate personal commitment to animal protection. Read more writing prize The Voiceless Writing Prize sponsored by Australian Ethical Investment is one of the most lucrative short story and non-fiction competitions in Australia, awarding a total prize pool of over $20,000. The Prize is designed to advance public understanding of animal sentience, human – animal relationships and the ethical treatment of animals.
