2007 was yet another great year for the Voiceless Grants Program, culminating with a glamorous, red-carpet Awards Event at the Sydney Opera House. On Monday 3rd December, Voiceless announced its seventeen grant recipients for 2007, each of whom was presented with a glass award by Voiceless Ambassador, Hugo Weaving. Over 200 special guests attended the event to congratulate the 2007 grant recipients, as well as to enjoy a special vegan lunch created by celebrated Chef Guillaume Brahini at the Opera House restaurant, Guillaume at Bennelong.

A special feature of the 2007 Awards Event was the presentation of the inaugural $10,000 'People's Choice!' award voted on by members of the public. Also included in the event was the presentation of the second annual $5,000 Animal Club 'Humane School Prize' to Clifton Hills Primary School from Perth. Three runner-up schools were also presented with cheques and digital cameras.

Voiceless awarded a total of $145,000 worth of grants and prizes at the Awards Event. Grants were given to a whole range of projects addressing a variety of animal protection issues including factory farming, animal experimentation, the link between livestock production and climate change, humane education and animal law.
