Reverend Barbara Allen received a $5,000 grant for funding towards a book entitled: Animals:Christian understanding and responsibility. The funds from this grant will go towards the printing, distribution and promotion of a book addressing Christian responsibility for animal welfare. The book is targeted at the church community and will include a study guide for discussion groups within the church. Shoalhaven City Council received a $5,000 grant for a project intended to minimise the impacts of development on native fauna. This project involves the creation and distribution of a brochure that explains to new and existing home-owners how they can help native animals survive in urban environments with the goal of minimising the impact of new development on native species. humaneconsumer received a $5,000 grant for a project intended to influence the purchasing habits and preferences of mainstream Australian consumers through its website www.humaneconsumer.com.au. The grant will go towards researching the content and further developing this site so that it can serve as a comprehensive source of information about humane alternatives and products and services that use animals. |
