Voiceless Patron The Hon. Michael Kirby AC CMG

“…we are not committed forever to just be indifferent to animal pain, and the growth of animal welfare and the feeling of the need of animal welfare is a very significant movement in our country and it's going to grow stronger and stronger...” Michael Kirby, ABC Online, 31 August 2011, read more

“Exploited animals cannot protest about their treatment or demand a better life. They are entirely at our mercy. So every decision of animal welfare, whether in Parliament or the supermarket, presents us with a profound test of moral character.” Michael Kirby, 13 August 2011, read more

“There is nothing so powerful in the world as an idea whose time has come, and animal protection is just such an idea.” Michael Kirby, 21 July 2011, read more

Hunter Hall is one of Voiceless's major supporters

Supporters and Sponsors Print E-mail
As animal protection continues to emerge as the next great social justice movement, Voiceless is proud to be associated with a wide variety of corporate and private sponsors, as well as generous donors who continue to enable our important work. We thank each and every one of them for their important contributions to our mission, and ensuring our society continues to make progress towards better outcomes for all animals with whom we share our world.

Gold Sponsors

Voiceless gratefully acknowledges the outstanding support of Peter Hall, Executive Chairman of Hunter Hall Investment Management Limited, who has been associated with Voiceless as a Gold sponsor since 2005.  We are thrilled to continue the long-term association with Peter.

Peter Hall, MD, Hunter Hall Investment Management

“I am delighted to have been a major sponsor of Voiceless over the past six years. As Australia's largest ethical funds management business, we are committed to good corporate citizenship. Together with environmental, social and governance considerations, animal welfare is at the forefront of corporate social responsibility. This is increasingly evident in the attitudes of investors, and more broadly the community, consumers, and regulators.

Voiceless is unique amongst groups in this area by working with leaders of the business, legal and professional establishment to make a difference for animals in areas such as factory farming, and to integrate animal protection in the CSR agenda. Not only is it a pleasure and an ethical imperative, it makes good business sense to partner with Voiceless.”

Silver Sponsors

Long-time partner with Voiceless, Bio-Distributors of Tasmania are proud supporters of the Australian animal protection community.  Ric and Jo of Bio-Distributors came on-board with Voiceless in 2005 and have not wavered in supporting our work in many different capacities.  We are extremely proud to be associated with them.

A new silver sponsor is De Poi Consulting. We are delighted to welcome Sandra de Poi and her group to join our valued silver supporters who so generously help us in our work to make a real difference for animals.

Another relatively new friend to Voiceless is Chad Lemming of Nova Press, Queensland who is Voiceless’s printing sponsor, generously providing us with an annual package for all our printing needs.

Media Prize Sponsor

The $15,000 Voiceless Media Prize 2011 has been sponsored by the Dalwood-Wylie Charitable Foundation, whose Director, Helena Wylie, has a passionate personal commitment to animal protection. The award recognises the most accurate and influential reports on animal protection and ethics. We are delighted to be partnering with Helena on this important Prize.

Helena Wylie, Director of Dalwood-Wylie Charitable Foundation:

"Astonishingly, in a country as civilised as Australia, commerce still appears to come before compassion, and profit before preservation.Yes, we must eat. But why should the animals we eat suffer sad and miserable lives and then agonising deaths? If Australia is going to trade in animal flesh -- kangaroos, cattle, pigs, sheep and poultry -- why can this not be done humanely? If we could put a man on the moon over 40 years ago, and make huge advances in medicine, science and technology, surely we can process animals without them suffering needlessly in the 21st century.

I believe that the only way that we can get the message across to our political and business leaders and make the public aware that this terrible animal suffering has to stop is through investigative journalism. The Dalwood-Wylie Charitable Foundation has sponsored the important 2011 Voiceless Media Prize in the hope that vital changes in practices carried out in Australia will be made."

Grants Sponsors

In 2010 we were thrilled to be joined by two new sponsors for the Annual Voiceless Grants Program - Melon Media and ICAP Australia. Both of these organisations sponsored a number of projects through the 2010 Grants Program and we look forward to continuing to build on the relationships that were forged through these partnerships.

Event Sponsors & General Support

We are also pleased to be supported by long-time friends Dr Charles  & Genevieve Teo and their family, who have served as patrons of Voiceless’s Annual Awards event for a number of years, and also supported our work through many other avenues.

Voiceless Councillor, A/Prof Charlie Teo AM, neurosurgeon

“I think that the first thing we need to do is become aware of where our food comes from and how farm animals are treated. If more people became aware of these things there would be huge public outcry, which would lead to change.”

We also thank and acknowledge our stalwart corporate sponsors who have partnered with us since 2006.  Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics who have supported us through their Charity Pot initiative, various grants sponsorships and wonderful product give-aways, and Nudie Foods who have kindly donated delicious vegan juices for most of our functions.

We are especially grateful to Forte Catering & Events, who generously donated their catering services for the Voices of Art II fundraising event at the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation in May 2011.  Forte designed a canapé menu that was innovative, sophisticated and delicious, while being completely vegan.  And huge thanks go to Dani Lombard Public Relations for making this important introduction for us.

We are also very grateful to significant donors who wish to remain anonymous and the many professionals who provide us with pro bono, discounted or in-kind support. Finally, our heartfelt thanks to the many individual friends of Voiceless who continue to support us financially, morally and emotionally - you are all irreplaceable.
