The veil of secrecy is real, study reveals Print E-mail

Iris Bergmann and Cecily Maller, Research fellows at RMIT and recipients of Voiceless's $21,000 "Against Factory Farming" grant in 2008, presented the preliminary findings of their research into the factors that lead Australians to support or actively reject factory farming, at the Minding Animals Conference in Newcastle last week.

Early indications from the surveys  and focus groups convened over the past months are that the extent of the lack of awareness of factory farming practices is even  greater than had been anticipated.
