THE founder of animal rights group Voiceless has been accused of breaking a promise to remove links to radical adult-like material from the organisation's Animal Club website.

National Farmers Federation president Peter Corish said Brian Sherman had advised him that he "would look at removing the links to Animal Liberation, PETA and other websites . . . accepting they may be inappropriate for children".

"Today children are still being directed to those same websites," Mr Corish said.

But Voiceless education manager Elaine Morris said the only conversations she and Mr Sherman had had with the NFF were in radio interviews where they talked about deactivating links to websites that could cause children distress.

Animal Club was launched by Voiceless earlier this month, aimed at three million Australian school children.

The campaign encourages children to eat less meat, boycott eggs and pork from "factory farms" and speak out against live exports and kangaroo culling.

Ms Morris said direct links to external websites on the "animal protection issues" page of the Animal Club site had been deactivated.
